So today I get an email about this video of school children singing about Obama... CNN covers the subject here: http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/politics/2009/09/26/snow.obama.song.controversy.cnn
I don't have time to comment but CNN does give good views from both side. I didn't know Obama's last name was Hussein (roflmao).
Also some interesting news I just read this article... this has to include a HUGE lawsuit somewhere.

I feel bad for this woman...she had to feel...well, to quote the article..."violated."

Obama "Drops the Ball" and "Obama is not Jesus"
So today has been fun to say the least... dealing with an institution who is arguing over paperwork matters instead of talking...now they're mad because other stuff is late (that was turned in quite a while ago i might add). This coming from an institution that is late for everything...and i mean almost everything. It has come to the point that no one believes the deadlines they make for themselves because they are always off--but enough of that.
I read a commentary on Obama's ignoring of the illegal immigration (which i think is funny because my friend is writing a paper on illegal immigration...have fun with that). http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/09/25/navarrette.obama.immigration/index.html
Essentially, it is criticizing Obama for attacking too many policies at the same time. Nothing in Government changes drastically--it's a gradual process. Now Obama, after making many promises to do something about illegal immigration in the past six months, has directed his focus on the Health Care Bill (which is so controversial it is taking up so much time and effort). The author states,
"Obama and his advisers decided to attack health care reform before immigration reform. That obviously was a mistake.
One thing that has thrown a wrench into the prospects for health care reform is the Joe Wilsonian concern that illegal immigrants might get free health care as a result of the reform process. Had that issue been addressed beforehand by giving illegal immigrants a path to earned legalization, that controversy might have been defused. Now Obama might walk away with nothing.
Be that as it may, it's clear that immigration reform just isn't a top priority for this administration."
This is a good argument but it would be interesting to hear the other side's argument...as far as the article , I agree with the author and the idea that Obama indeed "dropped the ball."
As far as health care, I got an interesting post from my friend about poster around campus... He wrote: "I wish someone could explain to me why such a poster as the one in this picture is relevant in any way whatsoever... such a sacrilegious poster should never be posted anywhere. I will admit that I ripped down several dozen and tore them to shreds (if this seems wrong to you, they had no seals of approval so I have that in justification). How dare you compare Obama's National Health Care Plan to Jesus' divine acts...or for that matter attribute Obama himself to Jesus. In no way is health care anything close to the miracles performed. More than that, how dare you put them up around in the building the lecture is taking place and attempt to insult the speaker by putting one on the podium... it was tactless. So just to recap, whoever put these up is an insult to the intelligence of [Anon School]. Honestly, you're ridiculous." (I omitted his University's name to protect some identity).

I agree that this is a ridiculous poster... i also read comments such as that the poster was a "slap in the face to both his education and faith" and also that, "[i]t's in poor taste, Biblically inaccurate, and not even a little funny." I guess it just goes to show you that ignorant people are like the government, they will attempt to prove themselves justified by the most uncorrelated means--i.e. the abuse of the commerce clause or the case in which the government justified not letting people roll cigars in tenement houses for fire safety reasons (for those who don't understand this...you don't need fire to roll cigars).
Thanks go to the few who discussed all this with me. Now I need to go. Thinking for you so you don't have to, Justin Case.

So after much encouragement from good friends i have decided to actually begin a blog...Me, a blog, i know right? But seriously, as i stare at this page which continues to fill up with words as i stare at it (that's because i am typing for those of you who didn't get that) i think about the vast array of things i need to be doing by my mind will not allow me to focus. How can i when the material for this class is so pointless? I am beginning to feel the pressures from my classes now--you know, right when it gets close to midterms--and i feel as if i am forced to ponder mindless meanderings that precede actual intellectual responses that qualify as important in classes that should be instructing. Frankly, i find most of these practices to be irrelevant and a waste of time. So I will go back to reviewing useless stuff since one of my friends is "off the grid" as he puts it and the other one i actually need for this class is off with his girlfriend... he's so going to fail.
I will end with a great quote, "Do not waste your time on social questions...what is the matter with the poor is poverty and what is the matter with the rich is uselessness." - George Bernard Shaw
Just as simply as that...why over complicate things? Follow the principle of Occam's Razor, the easiest answer is usually the best. Plus it matches my whole point of analyzing pointless social questions like the stuff i am reviewing... ugh.
